The name my momma gave me is Naomi. I'm still not sure who or what I am but I'll tell you what I found out so far:
I love classic rock. If my life was a movie, the soundtrack would primarily be made up by The Who, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Bruce Springsteen and David Bowie. Music makes me happy.
I'm a bit of a geek. I squeal at anything Nintendo 64 and have a love for crazy Japanese things. Four great loves in my life are The Legend of Zelda, Rurouni Kenshin, Pokemon and Studio Ghibli.
Anything art is enclosed in my heart. Photography is my passion and together with drawing, painting, writing and making up my own look and style, I would describe myself as an artist. I would get it tattooed on my forehead but I'm not sure what color or font I would use.
Kidding aside, tattoo's are a bit of a thing for me. I have none yet but I hope this will change soon. I daydream about tattoo's. If I see myself as an old lady, I'm covered in color. Also, bright colored hair and piercings.
I have three cats and a dog. My dog's name is Mojo, after the crazy awesome monkey from The Powerpuff Girls. My cats names are Leo, Hypatia and Sophie. Leo because of Leo McGarry from The West Wing, Hypatia because she was the first known female mathematician and philosopher and Sophie because of Howl's Moving Castle.
Watching movies is something I could spend the rest of my life doing, day in, day out. I have no specific love for any genre or type of movie (though coming of age stories always touch my heart in a unique way). Some of my favorites: Kikujiro, Grave of the Fireflies, In the mood for love, Kill Bill 1 & 2, A streetcar named Desire, Dolores Claiborne, Stand by me, Brokeback Mountain, The Virgin Suicides, Big, The Muppet Movie.
I started blogging because I wanted to give people an alternative look on clothing, appearance and the whole shabang. As a very young girl I was very insecure (aren't we all?) about everything. Appearance was one of the biggest things I worried about because that is the one thing that gets promoted as an important subject for a young girl to worry about. Looking for inspiration and support of some kind in the media I could only see people who were completely unrelatable to me. Not because they actaully are but because that's what the media shows us. It's what they call "perfection". The fact of the matter is, I don't want to see their so-called perfection. I want to see something real. Blogging is a way for me to be inspired by real people. And, maybe, be inspiration myself. But, you know, also kickass outfits.
I'm feminist, atheist, romantic, geeky, colorful, ambitious, creative. I want to create something in this world. Everyone has something unique to give and I believe I have something too.
Life's like a movie, write your own ending.
